We’ve had a lot of folks ask about how we handle puppy picks, so we figured we’d outline our process here! This process is exclusively for waitlist families of upcoming and future litters.

First and foremost, puppy picks are made by you (the client). We believe that choosing your puppy is an exciting and important part of the puppy process, and we want to leave that up to you. Puppy picks will be made one by one in waitlist order.

Personalities and temperaments will emerge around 5/6 weeks of age which is our goal for official picks. By that time, the little nuances in their personalities start to show and set them apart, so you’ll have a better idea of who they are at that point. You may have favorites much sooner than that, but we’ll set picks in stone at 6 weeks.

We’ll do our best to relay any and all information about each puppy from the moment they’re born. We want to make sure we provide as much information as possible that could help you choose your puppy. You’ll be flooded with pictures, videos, updates, and summaries of their personalities to help you get to know them. If you need more information, specific photos, or have any questions at all… just ask us and we’ll be happy to assist.

Ultimately, most puppies have pretty moldable personalities and most will be good fits for any family. If you’re a family requiring a certain purpose for your puppy (showing, breeding, working) you may have specific characteristics you’re hoping for in your puppy. Otherwise, we understand most puppy picks will come down to personal preference. We’ll make recommendations on which puppies would be good fits for your family based on what you’re looking for, but the choice will be up to you.

In the highly unlikely event that we believe a specific puppy will not be a good fit for your family dynamic, we reserve the right to decline a puppy pick for any reason. *This scenario is extremely improbable, but possible if a family is looking for a very specific type, temperament, or personality.
